Maximize print quality
Use these gauges to measure packing of your blanket cylinders.
Reduce dot gain, problems from over packing, wear on plates and cylinder bearings.
Measures on press without damage to the blanket or plate.
All gauges are manufactured in the USA and come with a lifetime "no fault" warranty.
An essential TQM tool with the following features:
- Twin radius contact rails for ease of alignment on the cylinder.
- State of the art Delrin body prevents scratching.
- Accurate to better then .001 or .02 mm
- Precision machined to aerospace tolerances
- Housed in hand crafted wooded storage boxes.
- Size Length: 7", Width 1 7/8", Height 2 3/16".
The original with all the above feature, is designed to provide you with affordable accuracy. Works on most presses with bearers.
Measuring Blankets With The TRUPAK® Packing Gauge
Before measuring, clean the blanket and bearers. Accuracy and cleanliness go hand in hand. Refer to the diagram below for the location of the measuring points.
Position gauge onto the blanket with the plunger tip resting on the bearer. Rock the gauge slightly to make sure that it is seated onto the blanket. This insures that the gauge is aligned with the cylinder. Now turn the dial until the "0" lines up with the indicating needle.
Now position the gauge onto the blanket with the plunger tip resting on the blanket. Do not position the tip within one inch of the edge of the blanket. Again, rock the gauge slightly to seat it on the blanket. The indicating needle now reads the difference in height between the blanket and the bearer. If the needle is on the plus (+) side of "0", the blanket is higher than the bearer by the amount shown on the dial. If the needle is on the minus(-)sideof"0", theblanket is lower than the bearer by the amount shown on the dial.
